The Pearl of Great Price

November 14, 2015

What if you are passing up the most important information that has ever been made available to you, because you think you have all the answers already?

When we come to recognize that we have a Creator, then we owe our hearts and our being to Him.  We owe it to Him to look up to Him in absolute awe.  We should hang on to His every word and study to show ourselves approved.

We should compare our actions to what He states He expects of us.  Any action or belief that does not pass the litmus test needs to be examined and discarded. Find the verses that say, “These are the things the Lord hates,” and make sure you avoid them. Find the ones that say what He requires us to do, and then do them.

Nothing else makes sense.  All the other teachings muddy the waters and keep us from seeing the simplicity and purity of the love of God and His law.

We don’t need a cartoon character religion, as one comedian described Christianity, or teachings that offer little hope for the masses. We need concrete, solid words from the pages of His manual on how to live our lives with love toward fellow man and love toward our God. We need to search for the pearl of great price.

Have you ever questioned whether your beliefs and practices are found in the pages of your Bible? Start today.  Research one thing at a time.  For example, see if you can find a place in the Bible that says, “Remember the first day of the week as the Sabbath. ”

See if you can find a place that says, ” Thou shalt have a memorial every year of the birth of your Savior.”

Look for a scripture that says, ” The day of death is better than the day of one’s birth.”

The Bible does speak of memorials that we are to celebrate.  See if you can find them. Among them you will find a memorial of the death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Are you keeping this memorial? Remember, a memorial comes around yearly–not every week or when we decide to have it.

These are just a start.  Ask God to open your heart to His truth, and remind Him of the promise that those who truly seek, shall find. Let go of any pre-conceived ideas you have and look with an open mind.

It is an exciting journey and worth all that you leave behind in order to be in harmony with the one and only true God of the universe. Nothing less than that is worthy of the One who is the omnipotent and powerful leader of the angels and also holds our very breath in His hands.

Are you willing to find out who God really is?

To aid in this incredible search we have a free Bible Study Course, which can be read online, downloaded and printed, or sent to you as a free hard copy subscription.
